## Chapter 934

Golden light energy enveloped Jin’s body.

The light was so intense that it seemed capable of blinding. Paellito gritted his teeth as he covered his eyes with one hand. The divine energy kept his demonic energy at bay.

“Holy Queen…!”

Paellito tried to push his sword further, but it remained firmly stuck in Jin’s heart, not moving at all.

‘What kind of power is this for someone who should already be dead!’

Paellito couldn’t move Jin’s hand holding the blade, despite having overpowered Hedo with his physical strength. He pulled so hard that his face contorted, but Bascala didn’t show the slightest sign of yielding.

Jin’s right arm, which had been stiff as stone moments ago and whose fingers were crumbling, was enveloped in golden energy and slowly returned to its original form.

Even his shredded left arm and other damaged parts of his body regenerated to the same state. His eyes, which had dulled, regained their intense brilliance, and his body, once icy cold, filled with warmth. The black blood flowing from his heart rapidly diminished.

Jin seemed to be resurrecting.

Paellito continued to apply all his strength to remove Bascala, trembling in horror at this terrifying sight. He pulled with both hands, struck Jin’s face and chest with his fists, and even tried to bite his neck.

“Kaaaah!”

However, Jin suffered no harm. Instead, Paellito felt unbearable pain as his fists and teeth shattered.

Slish…

Soon after, Jin withdrew Bascala from his body. In the process, Paellito exploded his demonic energy several times, which only resulted in both him and the sword being thrown backward.

Paellito, who was immobilized on the ground, looked up with a bewildered expression. Jin floated a foot or two above the ground and looked at him without showing any emotion. He had fully recovered, as if all his wounds had never existed.

The entire sky was bathed in the golden energy emanating from him. Wherever Paellito looked, he only saw a blindingly intimidating landscape. He quickly readjusted his posture and prepared to attack.

However, Jin had no intention of immediately plunging his sword. The situation had taken a sudden turn.

“Jin, I’m sorry. All the Holy Kingdom and I can do… is postpone your death.”

Lani spoke as if collapsing and sinking to the ground. Jin turned to look at her.

Lani’s breathing was heavy, and she was gradually fading. She would soon become completely transparent and disappear.

It’s impossible to fully resurrect Jin.

Lani felt sorry and angry about that fact, shedding tears. Despite Ayula having sent all her remaining true energy and the entire Holy Kingdom having prayed fervently, they couldn’t bring Jin back to life.

Lani, likewise, was about to face her own extinction.

“That’s enough. Then, wait until the fight is over.”

Lani wanted to retort that that wasn’t possible and that she wouldn’t have the chance to say goodbye, but she disappeared before she could say anything. In her place remained a lump of light, something that shouldn’t have existed in the first place.

Even Ayula, who had brought Lani here, didn’t expect this turn of events. Jin couldn’t take his eyes off that light for a long time.

And Paellito thought that Jin must be suffering. That he was experiencing the pain of losing such a close friend right before his eyes.

“Puhaha… it seems that the feared immortal Ayula sacrificed herself to postpone your death. However, you couldn’t protect her. Do you have any value at all? Value enough for Ayula to give up all her powers?”

Jin didn’t listen to Paellito’s voice, filled with malice and resentment.

He was focused. He wanted to know what that remaining light was, the one that had remained in place of Lani and that he had faced before.

It didn’t take him long.

‘Sword Emperor Castle.’

The place where Gliek had swallowed him and Ron during the Sword Emperor Castle War.

Jin had encountered that light previously, when Ron Hairan finally overcame chaos and achieved Genesis Knight mastery.

Back then, Jin had only faced that light without being able to see it directly, as he wasn’t a Genesis Knight. He only knew that Ron had shared some of that light to save him.

Unlike that occasion, now Jin could clearly contemplate the light of the Genesis Knight with his own eyes. He could notice that the barrier blocking the light had disappeared.

‘The light of the Genesis Knight…’

He had imagined it countless times since his previous life.

Jin had thought every day about the moment of becoming a Genesis Knight, the instant he used that power to stand at the top of the world, just like his father had.

But it didn’t generate as much excitement as he had imagined.

Because becoming a Genesis Knight didn’t solve all problems. At some point, Jin came to see the Genesis Knight not as the ultimate goal of martial arts achievement, but as a means to achieve his dreams.

To end all those crazies who threatened his life, the people, and the world, and to establish an era of peace.

And so, as a Regressor, he would get rid of all the burdens he carried for the world and put an end to the long struggle that had continued since his previous life.

Becoming a Genesis Knight was the process he had to go through to achieve it.

For the first time in a long time, he had overcome a major obstacle. Jin left the remaining light that occupied Lani’s place and turned around.

It was then that Paellito recognized him.

“Ah… You. You… are in the same domain as me. It’s just a temporary power obtained from Ayula’s energy… isn’t it?”

“It’s true that Lady Ayula postponed my end through Lani. But the fact that I woke up immediately after dying is something that even Lady Ayula herself didn’t seem to know.”

Fate. Paellito couldn’t help but think of that word.

‘Is the destiny of a Regressor truly superior to all other destinies? Can a mere mortal, a human, dare to possess such a destiny?’

If that were the case, then Paellito could never defeat Jin. The destiny bestowed upon Paellito was undoubtedly of a lower rank.

He felt unfairly treated.

Throughout their encounters, not once was he in danger while Jin and his group dominated him, and they even spared Jin’s life on several occasions.

The gap in destiny seemed to ensure his defeat. No matter how strong he was, or what he did, it seemed that destiny told him that he couldn’t defeat Jin Runcandel. Even if Jin admitted defeat and knelt down, destiny wouldn’t allow it.

Jin saw through his thoughts.

“That’s right.”

“…What did you say?”

“If the Sun God had continued to exist in this world, or if the order of pain you always preached had been established, I probably wouldn’t have had any means to defeat you. Because that would have gone against the order.”

Jin slowly approached Paellito.

“But the ground you stand on now isn’t such a terrifying world, Paellito. There’s nothing predetermined here… Anything can change at any moment, and the results can always be different. That’s the world we know, the order we know.”

“Shut up!”

Kwahng!

Paellito lunged forward and brought Bascala down with force. Jin stopped him easily and destabilized his posture effortlessly.

“Ugh!”

“Right now, you probably don’t understand what I just said. You and yours use evil to chain yourselves. That’s why Zito clings to order. He wants to enjoy pain safely, without fighting.”

“Shut up!”

Heugh!

Paellito let out a gasp. His body trembled with an unexpected jolt as he tried to block Jin’s sword. The flying sword grazed his forehead and cut his upper arm before he could even blink.

Paellito was completely unable to respond to this sudden counterattack. The majesty of the Demon of the Sword, which once split the sky and the earth, now seemed like a complete lie.

And it wasn’t just because Jin had become a Genesis Knight.

It was because the inner demon had devoured Paellito. If Paellito had been in that state from the beginning, Jin and his group would have easily subdued him.

“Paellito Belgasyum, how did you come to this?”

Paellito had no time to answer. Jin observed Paellito’s shadow as he extended his sword.

Thanks to the keen understanding of the Genesis Knight, he could vaguely glimpse flashes of Paellito’s past, when he had led the resistance before being brainwashed by Zito.

“You were undoubtedly someone who fought for a cause. You fought for the world without feeling the debt of a Regressor, with unwavering determination. Back then, you possessed the most radiant willpower in the True Demon World. Countless people would have gathered under that light.”

Jin felt admiration for that Paellito of the past.

He felt a sense of camaraderie, a desire to fight together, and the conviction that, even though they had known each other for a short time, they could have supported each other.

But the monster that now used evil wasn’t that person.

“Kaaah…..!”

“I felt you since then, but I can’t forgive you.”

Suak-!

The sword pierced Paellito’s left arm straight through. His arm fell to the ground and disintegrated into particles.

It was thanks to the faint perceptions of the Genesis Knight that still remained in him. Without it, his neck would have been cut, not his arm.

Paellito was constantly thrown around, splattering blood, just as he had done to Jin earlier.

Occasionally, the powers of the demon gods embedded in Bascala blocked Jin’s advance. However, no plague or curse could threaten Jin anymore.

His Shadow Energy, which had been blocked in Bascala, had returned.

The darkness of his Shadow Energy spread through the golden light, which had transformed into an aura after becoming a Genesis Knight.

Paellito wanted to get away from that light and darkness, but wherever he turned, he found no escape.

“You’ve killed too many people. Brainwashing can’t be an excuse. Even if you were a radiant being, even if you had saved countless of your own from Zito, in the end, if you become a monster, you will face someone like me.”

Suddenly, Paellito felt the sensation of a wall behind him. The curtain of Shadow Energy rose like a massive wall blocking his retreat.

Jin knew that, from now on, the human world would never forget Paellito’s massacres and destruction. The day his glorious past would be used to justify his sins would never come.

But when Zito died, perhaps there would be people in the underworld who would revere Paellito. Jin thought as he looked at Paellito.

Paellito had plunged Bascala into the ground and held a black sphere in his hand.

‘…chaotic energy?’

Jin immediately recognized the element that formed the sphere. It was the sphere that Kelliak had given to Paellito.
