## Chapter 933

Kaaaah!

Paellito shouted as he pushed Jin back. Jin staggered backward, and his arm nearly bent backward.

A surge of flames erupted due to the backlash and momentarily blocked Paellito’s view. Just as he attempted to advance through the flames, Bradamante fell, splitting the fire in two.

Bradamante landed right on Paellito’s forehead. However, it couldn’t reach him due to the lack of strength to pierce through his demonic energy shield. It only left a scratch on the shield.

—Did I… not notice?—

For Paellito, it was shocking.

It was an unexpected counterattack, but it was neither fast nor sharp. Jin’s sword seemed dull after losing his arm. It was even less impressive compared to the ordinary strikes of that inexperienced martial artist who was just beginning to learn swordsmanship.

But what bothered Paellito the most was that he hadn’t even perceived the moment that sword was directed at him.

His entire body would have been split in two if there hadn’t been a shield, or if Jin had retained the same strength as before. A chill ran down his spine.

—Could it be because of the inner demon? Even so, it’s not possible for such a simple sword…!—

It was incomprehensible. He felt anger and frustration building up inside him.

The death of Sakiel, the absurd counterattack that Jin had just displayed, the fact that Jin was a regressor… All of it continued to drive Paellito mad.

He couldn’t accept it. He had to defeat that fiery monster, Jin Runcandel, for this nightmare to end.

Paellito once again wielded the Underworld Sword.

But now, the ability to interfere with the senses had little effect on Jin. His vision had been darkened since before, and he couldn’t precisely control his shattered body.

Moreover, Jin’s hazy sensation only intensified, even adding the characteristics of the Underworld Sword. Whether he opened or closed his eyes, everything turned dark before him, and wherever he walked, Paellito was there.

There was a Sword Demon consumed by anger, hatred, and madness.

—Die, die!—

Chiing!

The sharp clash of the two swords resonated in the air. Both leaned toward each other so much that the guards of their swords brushed against one another.

There was no way for Jin to win in such a raw power struggle. Paellito brushed aside the sword as if throwing it and delivered a punch to Jin’s defenseless face.

A dull, heavy thud echoed as if a rock had exploded. Jin clearly felt his frontal bone break upon impact with Paellito’s fist, being sent flying and crashing to the ground.

—Urgh!—

It felt as if a blood bag had exploded in his head. Blood poured from his eyes, ears, and mouth, and all his senses were blocked for a moment.

Paellito lunged at Jin like a wild beast, not bothering to disguise his impatience. Now, Paellito continuously pursued Jin, even as he had momentarily lost consciousness.

—Die, Jin Runcandel, die!—

However, as soon as Paellito approached Jin, he had to close his eyes tightly.

Moreover, Jin had unconsciously released the flash cannon. The moment Paellito’s punch sent Jin to the ground, he momentarily dropped his sword and conjured the flash cannon in his empty hand.

It was simply an instinctive action.

It was a superficial move that should never be able to damage a Genesis Knight. However, Paellito felt a burning sensation in his eyes, which were directly exposed to the flash cannon.

It seemed as if something invisible was constantly distorting the situation. Things that shouldn’t happen were repeating.

Jin only regained consciousness when Paellito shortened the distance between them. Jin’s previously dark vision turned completely red as if it were soaked in blood.

He struggled to breathe due to the blood clots in his nose and throat. Nevertheless, Jin tightened his grip on his sword, conjured flames, and adjusted his stance.

He was determined to transcend fate.

He had decided to endure all the historical changes and deaths that had occurred because of his regression, no matter what. Even if his body broke, he couldn’t stop fighting.

Even if an inevitable death awaited him, he had to keep battling. Just like Ron Hairan, whom he had admired in the past, Jin was transcending death at that very moment.

—This bastard’s heartbeat is slowing down.—

Paellito opened his eyes and moved towards Jin. He could hear Jin’s heartbeat with each step, as if pressing his ear against Jin’s chest. He wanted to take that lifeless, trembling heart in his hands.

He could do it at any moment. As long as the inexplicable phenomenon— which felt like the protection of the Sun God— stopped manifesting.

—Wait… could it be that the light was the blessing of the Sun God just when it revealed that he was a regressor?—

Paellito had those strange thoughts.

There was no way. The Sun God was already dead, and Zito would soon take control to become the new order of the world.

The shadow of the cruel creator who banished the demons from the underworld seemed to envelop Jin. The illusion was so vivid that it sent chills down Paellito’s spine, and he wanted to take a step back.

He wanted to flee. It was a fear he hadn’t felt since becoming the Sword Demon, and it wasn’t an ordinary fear. A primitive and indescribable fear paralyzed him. His grip on Bascala trembled, and his legs weakened as he walked.

—The Sun God… the Sun God!? Nonsense, I am the Sword Demon! I am the only sword blessed by the grace of pain!—

As if he were a boy trying to ignore his fear, Paellito forced himself to speak and tried to dispel the light.

He advanced and pushed through the terrifying illusion. Behind that illusion was nothing more than a simple human who would soon turn to dust.

That thought wasn’t wrong.

After a moment, Paellito finally managed to face Jin, who was barely standing, clinging to his sword as if embracing it. Jin looked like a wounded beast, with patches of fur here and there.

—Ha, Jin Runcandel, can you still say that you will transcend fate? Say it again!—

Paellito’s voice mixed between his original one and that of his demonic nature. And his expression kept distorting before returning to calm. Just as Jin was overcoming death, Paellito was also battling against his inner demon.

Jin said nothing.

His vocal cords, lungs, and his entire being had nearly lost function. Jin didn’t even perceive that Paellito was approaching, so he swung his sword randomly through the air.

Paellito laughed for a moment at the sight of him. He touched his forehead and leaned down, letting out a hollow laugh.

—That’s right, that’s the look you have left, human. Did you die and come back in time? Do you think regression is superior to fate? Never, you are just drunk on luck that you should never have had.

Paellito shot sword energy. It wasn’t the Heavenly Destruction Slash, but an unrelenting sword energy he had been continuously releasing during the battle.

Even that was something Jin couldn’t withstand. Thud…! Jin fell to the ground, and his body began to crumble like a pile of loose earth that disintegrates when touched by sword energy.

The first thing to detach was two fingers gripping the sword. There was no flesh, blood, or even visible bones. The exposed interior of the severed limb was simply a dark void.

Bradamante continued to tremble as the three remaining fingers of the hand that held it lost strength. If even slightly pressed, all the fingers would disintegrate, and the sword would fall to the ground.

Only then could Paellito truly calm down.

He managed to escape the fear that seemed to have no origin and face reality. All he saw were the words of a proud human who was nothing more than a corpse.

Paellito felt as if he were alone on a deserted island, surviving while extinction was imminent, facing Jin.

He was enveloped in solitude. He felt no joy in his victory. As Jin said, all that awaited the victor were scars they would never forget, even in death.

—…You can’t transcend anything. In this world, someone like you will not appear again. No one can carry your will, and no one can escape their predetermined fate.—

Bascala turned black.

However, it wasn’t easy to stab Jin. Paellito hesitated for a moment as he watched Jin.

It wasn’t due to the fear created by the Sun God illusion, nor because of a lack of strength to wield his sword. Paellito still had the confidence to eliminate all the remaining “bugs” in the Holy Kingdom by himself.

What prevented him from proceeding was the thought that death might somehow provide relief to Jin.

It didn’t seem like Jin’s soul would fall into hell. Even if he were to be consumed by Bascala, it didn’t seem likely that sealed beings like Bisaro could break Jin. Instead, Jin could even resurrect from within and free himself from Bascala.

The order of pain had not yet been fully established. It seemed he couldn’t seal Jin in any way until the order was completely established.

It wasn’t just a feeling, but a conviction.

However, Paellito had decided not to kill Jin. He needed to keep Jin’s soul bound for now, even if in the future an unforeseen event occurred where Jin broke the seal of Bascala.

So he had to show him. The world in which the order of pain was established, the “bugs” fighting under the roof of destiny, the world he had loved, and everything he had tried to take control of would eventually face their end.

—Scream when you awaken again someday.—

Thud!

Paellito plunged Bascala into Jin’s chest. From the cold, viscous black blood that emanated from Jin’s now dormant heart, it slowly began to flow.

Now that Bascala was open, Jin was on the verge of being devoured. Bascala would seal Jin’s will to overcome his death and postpone his extinction by locking away his soul.

The sealing would be completed in a matter of seconds.

However, the demonic energy that spread like roots from the blade of Bascala was blocked by something, preventing it from sealing Jin.

Paellito realized the reason a moment later.

There was a human kneeling behind Jin, resting her forehead against his back.

—Jin, I’m here. I’m here, along with the people and the Holy Kingdom.—

It was the Holy Queen Lani. She was praying behind Jin.
