## Chapter 938

The evil god raised his head to look at Jin.

The light enveloping Jin came from behind, so it looked like a black figure stood there. It seemed as if the shadow had stopped in that place.

[“Disappear… me?”]

The evil god responded in that way, but his body was already beginning to lose its shape gradually.

His physical appearance changed color randomly, like an opal, and in some places, it became transparent before darkening again. It seemed like the beginning of his self-destruction.

[“I won’t disappear. My presence will remain in every corner of the world. I will become a plague and a curse, devouring you all for eternity.”]

“Don’t worry. Nothing will go as planned until the end.”

These words weren’t directed at the evil god; Jin was addressing them to Paellito Belgasyum, who still remained within the evil god.

Jin extended his hand above the evil god’s head. At that moment, the latter had become a grotesque, bubbling lump of mass that seemed about to explode at any moment.

[“Boy, I’m taking these two with me and getting out of here. We also need to check the situation on the other side.”]

Murakan spoke as he lifted Talaris and Luntia onto his back.

“Alright, we’ll see you later. Thanks for your hard work, Talaris-nim and Elder Sister Luntia.”

Talaris and Luntia didn’t congratulate Jin on his achievement.

Too many people have died today. The souls of those who perished in today’s battle would undoubtedly cry out throughout the Holy Kingdom.

Both thought that Jin would be more focused on listening to the lamentations of those he couldn’t protect, rather than getting carried away by the joy of reaching the peak.

“Even if you became the leader of the Vamel Alliance, the young patriarch of the Sword Clan, and became a Genesis Knight, in my eyes, you are still the boy who did everything he could to save the people of the world, even though you had no connection to them.

This war and the deaths weren’t your responsibility. You did the best you could.”

Talaris didn’t add any more words; instead, she met Jin’s gaze and said:

“And that boy still shines brightly. I’ll see you when it’s all over, Jin.”

Murakan broke through the **Shadow Energy** curtain and flew out.

Immediately after, the evil god’s chaotic energy contracted and condensed into a single point. The explosion was about to begin, so Jin concentrated his energy in his outstretched hand. The golden energy surrounded the evil god’s chaotic energy like a protective shield.

Boom!

The evil god met his end with the explosion.

The last burst of chaos would have annihilated, in the blink of an eye, the entire area of the Holy Kingdom if it weren’t for the golden energy surrounding the evil god.

It would have spread rapidly in all directions, completely devouring the kingdom, and it wouldn’t have taken more than ten minutes to turn the nearby territorial waters black, like rotten oil.

As the evil god had warned before, his chaotic energy wouldn’t have stopped even then, and it would have consumed the entire world, just as Gliek had done on other occasions.

This would have been the outcome if Jin hadn’t been there to prevent the evil god’s self-destruction.

“The evil god is still an evil god, even if he is in an incomplete state. I could have been in real danger if I hadn’t prepared properly…”

Kchzz, Kzrtz! Boom!

Cracks appeared in the shield surrounding the chaotic energy, which erupted violently. However, even if it managed to break through the shield, it would encounter another formed by Murakan’s **Shadow Energy**.

The golden energy swirled according to Jin’s will, already filling the fissures in the **Shadow Energy** curtain and enveloping the chaotic energy that was trying to escape.

It seemed as if thousands of giant serpents were fighting; Jin’s golden energy and the chaotic energy intertwined with each other, vying for dominance.

The chaotic energy never managed to take the lead in this contest. On the contrary, Jin continued to amplify his power, and the impending explosion gradually diminished.

One hour later…

Finally, the chaotic energy disappeared completely, leaving no trace whatsoever under the **Shadow Energy** curtain and Jin’s golden energy. Only then did Jin catch his breath and wipe the sweat from his brow.

He felt dizzy.

Although it seemed inferior compared to the evil god that appeared from Rosa in the past, the evil god was still an evil god.

Everything ended this way because they clashed at the most vulnerable moment, right after its birth. Jin wouldn’t have achieved victory without suffering significant casualties if he had faced it once it reached its peak power.

Whoooooosh!

The remaining golden energy and the **Shadow Energy** in the vicinity concentrated back towards Jin. He felt his energy replenish and took a moment to close his eyes and regain his strength.

Jin opened his eyes and saw a person lying in the place where the evil god had exploded.

Paellito Belgasyum, the Demon Sword of the True Demon World and the person who had transformed into the evil god. He seemed completely unharmed, as if he were sleeping peacefully.

“Paellito Belgasyum.”

Jin looked down at him.

“Jin Runcandel.”

Paellito spoke without opening his eyes:

“No one was killed by the evil god.”

“I received great consideration from the enemy… In that case, am I the only one responsible for the deaths of innocent people today?”

“Yes. But perhaps I also killed demons who were manipulated without fault. Of course, all the demons were brainwashed by Zito and committed all sorts of atrocities in the human world, but there was no way to avoid Zito’s brainwashing. Even you, being a Genesis Knight, ended up falling into corruption without realizing you were being brainwashed.”

“It’s natural to kill them. Our positions were different: you fought to protect humans, and I was brainwashed and did everything Zito ordered. I not only killed humans, but I also mercilessly eliminated the demons of the True Demon World.”

“I understand. That’s why I don’t hold them responsible. Still, I feel anger. However, now that I know the truth, it’s a bittersweet feeling.”

“Yes, I still feel deep resentment towards you, even now. But I also understand the truth and regret my actions. As much as I regret it, what I’ve done won’t disappear. Besides, I was consumed by hatred until the end and threatened the world… It probably wasn’t what Sakiel desired.”

“It seems you finally come to your senses. That marble, who gave it to you?”

“I received it from Kelliark Zippel.”

“I suspected it. Kelliark Zippel… it seems he has a place in hell, doesn’t he?”

“He reached Hell through a deal with the witch. That’s why even Zito couldn’t touch him recklessly. So, he may have plotted something sinister there. I knew that the marble belonged to the witch, but… when it shattered, I saw that fire. It was the power of an immortal named Sheenu. It seemed as if Kelliark Zippel and Sheenu had joined forces.”

“Did he create that marble from the chaos derived from being exposed to Gliek? If Zito didn’t know that Kelliark gave you the marble, then he must have intended to use you, along with Zito, for something. He probably wanted to devour the True Demon World and have it under his command. In any case, it’s a complicated situation.”

Jin instantly deduced Kelliark’s intentions. The fact that he was preparing to return from Hell was disturbing.

“If Kelliark Zippel succeeds in his plans, the True Demon World will only be used by another monster like Zito…”

“You could have stopped him.”

Psssss…

Dust-like particles emerged from Paellito.

He was already dead. The will that was once a Genesis Knight was briefly delaying his death, but he would soon disappear without a trace.

“But now, that responsibility falls on me. I have to eliminate Zito, and Kelliark Zippel was always one of my biggest enemies.”

The job that he was supposed to fulfill as guardian of the True Demon World was snatched away by a human he saw for the first time today.

There was no greater feeling of defeat, and at the same time, there was no greater relief. Paellito felt both despair and comfort knowing that, even after his departure, there would be a giant who would fight for the True Demon World, and someone brighter and stronger than him.

Paellito’s body was now barely half left.

“Is there anything else you want to say, Paellito?”

“No… forgive me. Please, convey this to the people of the True Demon World. And…”

“I’m sorry.”

Paellito spoke in a heavy voice. Tears streamed down his eyes.

If he hadn’t been manipulated by Zito, he wouldn’t have come to the human world to massacre people.

“Thank you for stopping me. Now, I can reunite with Sakiel…”

And so, Paellito met his end and turned into dust of the world. Jin watched for a moment the place where he disappeared.

Sunlight poured in as the **Shadow Energy** curtain dissipated, and the destroyed land was visible below.

It seemed that the souls of those who died running, fighting, and praying in the territory of the Holy Kingdom, on the verge of destruction, still couldn’t leave that land.

Jin thought about the people who had died.

Among them, he remembered his comrades who had faced Paellito alongside him.

‘Dante… Sir Hedo…’

Paellito had clearly stated that they had died.

In fact, Jin couldn’t perceive their energy in any corner of that land; during the battle, he didn’t feel them.

Perhaps they were dead. However, for some reason, Jin had a feeling that they were still alive.

It could be just a delusional wish, perhaps he was refusing to accept the truth, as he couldn’t come to terms with the death of his comrades.

But it was clear that the Holy Queen, Lani Salome, hadn’t perished. She had left that light for her at the moment he ascended to Genesis Knight.

Jin began walking towards the source of that light.

Soon after, he felt a familiar energy emanating from that direction as he approached.

His heart raced. Unconsciously, he ran like an excited child, and after a while, Jin saw the light he had left for Lani, with his comrades gathered around her.

The comrades he believed dead lay on the ground, making groaning sounds.

And the Goddess of Peace, Ayula, embraced them with her ten pairs of wings.

“Whew, Jin, are you here? I can’t get up in this state.”

“Neither can I. I really thought I was going to die this time…”

“Dante, Sir Hedo!”

Jin rushed towards them and hugged them tightly. Ayula smiled at the sight.

[“Jin, thank you for saving my most faithful son.”]
