**Chapter 534: The Lazy One Makes a Mistake (4)**

Unlike the anguish consuming Wei Jeonghan, Wei Yanho was genuinely surprised.

“Huh? What…?”

Wei Yanho blinked like a startled ox and tilted his head in disbelief.

“This wasn’t what I wanted!”

He hadn’t intended for that to happen. He had only swung his sword slightly to push the opponent away. It was like waving a fly swatter to shoo away a fly and ending up knocking down the roof.

Wei Jeonghan and Jangil glared at him reproachfully, but Wei Yanho felt deeply wronged. No matter how much he swore it wasn’t his intention, it was obvious they wouldn’t believe him.

“It wasn’t me!”

“What?”

“I didn’t do this!”

“Then who, you damn insensitive bastard?”

“Elder abuser! Just seeing an old man makes your blood boil!”

“…This is ridiculous.”

With his history of misdeeds, his excuses were useless.

Wei Yanho swallowed hard as he contemplated the central street and the main gate reduced to rubble.

Sure, if he put his mind to it, he could achieve something like that. Although destructive power doesn’t define the level of martial arts, Wei Yanho’s techniques specialized in that aspect. If he wanted to, he could cause even more damage.

But the problem was that he **hadn’t** intended to.

That the strength he intended didn’t come out was a problem, but that **more** than planned came out was also a problem. It meant his control had become unbalanced.

“Am I suffering *Zhuhua Rumo* (Demonic Possession)?”

But he hadn’t done anything!

Quickly, Wei Yanho checked his physical condition. However, contrary to his fears, he found no abnormalities. If his internal balance were so altered, he would have noticed.

“Then what’s the problem?”

As he scanned his surroundings, his gaze stopped at a point. Nothing seemed to have changed… except for **one** thing.

Wei Yanho looked down at his sword.

A sword that shone with white light.

His beloved weapon.

All his suspicions turned towards it. At first glance, it didn’t seem very different from before. So familiar in his hand that he had swung it without thinking.

But now that he observed it, **everything** was different.

That it shone brighter than before was something he could overlook, but he couldn’t ignore that it **felt completely different** to the touch.

Hadn’t they warned him?

Yes, they had.

The problem was that Wei Yanho **hadn’t perceived it**. Now, focusing on the sword, he didn’t understand how he hadn’t noticed it before. Every detail, from the weight to the texture under his fingers, was distinct.

And yet, he hadn’t felt anything strange. For a martial artist, whose sensitivity should sharpen with their level, that was impossible.

The reason he didn’t notice the difference was that the sword felt **as natural** as an extension of his own arm. As if it had been born to be in his hand.

“This is incredible.”

Wei Yanho shook the sword experimentally.

And the consequences were terrible.

“Aaaah!”

“Hey, you damn madman!”

A cutting wave of sharp energy spread from the blade, splitting buildings as if they were paper under a razor.

“Huh?”

Wei Yanho blinked and stared at his sword.

“Lunatic! What the hell are you doing?”

“Do you want to kill us all?!”

Wei Yanho felt unjustly accused.

“But I didn’t use force! I just moved it a little…”

“And why did that happen then?!”

“…That’s what I’m saying.”

With an astonished expression, he observed the sword.

He had been told that, when wielding a worthy sword, he would see a “new world,” but this wasn’t what he expected! He had literally been thrown into another dimension.

Wei Yanho tried to infuse a little energy into the sword. At that moment, the white blade emitted a glow of more than a *zhang* (3 meters) and vibrated with an ominous hum.

“Ay…”

He laughed in despair.

“This is already too much. It doesn’t even make sense.”

Wei Jeonghan and Jangil reacted similarly.

“Hey, that doesn’t seem normal.”

“Throw it away. Throw it away before it’s too late.”

He had heard that a divine weapon could elevate the level of martial arts, but this was excessive. Now he understood why martial artists roamed valleys and mountains like treasure seekers.

And this wasn’t just any divine weapon.

The sword of Baek Muhan, forged by the best blacksmith in the world and adjusted specifically for Wei Yanho. A weapon among weapons.

And yet…

Wei Yanho looked at it uncomfortably.

For a martial artist, obtaining a weapon that amplified their energy and edge was an unparalleled blessing. But, at this moment, he doubted if it was really a good thing.

“I can’t control it…”

He decided to put it back in the scabbard to avoid further accidents. Jangil and Wei Jeonghan approached cautiously.

“Was that why?”

“It seems so.”

“…Does that make sense?”

“It shouldn’t, but it does.”

Jangil was about to cry.

*Don’t give something like that to this guy!*

It was already difficult to deal with him. Any person with a conscience would keep such a treasure away from Wei Yanho. If they gave him an absurd object like this on top of that, how were they supposed to handle it?

“I thought you had sold it. What did they do to it?”

“The old blacksmith of the Tang Family said he would recast it because it was in poor condition…”

“Was he an immortal?”

Wei Jeonghan muttered in a daze. There was no other explanation.

“I think the sword was already weird from the beginning.”

“The sword?”

“Yes. It was my master’s sword. It was made of an unknown metal, and since he forged it himself, it was a mess. That’s why they remade it, but the result is… well…”

“Terrifying.”

“Yes.”

Wei Yanho looked uncomfortably at the sheathed sword. A weapon that is too sharp is dangerous: sometimes, sharp scissors cut their owner.

At least, he could no longer use it without thinking.

Just as he made that decision, a terrifying sound rumbled.

**BOOOOM!**

Everyone turned their heads towards the origin of the noise. From a cloud of dust, a figure emerged.

The Demonic Elder, who had been thrown by Wei Yanho’s blow, walked as if he had suffered no damage. Well, “without damage” wasn’t the right word.

His hair was disheveled, his clothes torn, and his face distorted like that of a demon from hell. No one could say he was okay.

“He looks angry.”

“With reason.”

“I would be furious too.”

As if to confirm their words, the Demonic Elder shouted to the sky.

“AAAAAAH!! Damn brat! I’ll kill you!”

Wei Yanho sighed as he saw the spectacle.

“He seemed so kind before…”

“What part of a *Demon Cult* seems kind?”

“Do something quickly!”

Jangil stamped his feet impatiently.

It was understandable.

When he contained his power, the Demonic Elder looked like an old man from the neighborhood playing chess. But now, unleashed, he looked like a bloodthirsty executioner. The demonic aura emanating from him chilled the spine.

“Weren’t you saying it was *Wu Gou Gong Shan* (Infinite Work Mountain)?! Damn you!”

“…What category does this beggar fall into?”

Wei Yanho sighed deeply. How the hell had the Beggar Sect named him *Xiao Gelie* (Illustrious Beggar)? What were they thinking?

He had many questions, but the leader of the sect wasn’t there. So, without another option, he kicked Jangil away.

As Jangil rolled away, Wei Yanho saw the Demonic Elder concentrating energy. His next move was obvious.

**PUM!**

The ground exploded under his feet.

The force of his legs, flexed and then extended, made the earth jump as if it had exploded. Using that momentum, the Demonic Elder launched himself forward at a monstrous speed.

It was said that Demons, when enraged, lost their reason. Now he understood the meaning of those words. The same man who had previously tried to buy time now charged at Wei Yanho with a murderous look, as if he couldn’t tolerate his existence for even a second more.

The sound of the air being cut was deafening.

Wei Jeonghan and Jangil felt the hairs on their skin stand on end, despite not being the target. But Wei Yanho remained serene.

“What a violent temper.”

**Ching!**

Despite his decision not to use it, his sword was drawn again.

His gaze turned cold.

The demonic aura emanating from the Demonic Elder brought back memories he preferred to forget.

“Tch.”

His expression twisted slightly.

His master had told him that obsessing over defeat was foolish, but Wei Yanho, not being at the same level of enlightenment, couldn’t help it.

That repressed memory irritated him.

“I don’t like taking it out on others…”

His sword pointed directly at the Demonic Elder.

“But if you insist, don’t complain afterwards.”

**Zuuuum…**

A blinding white light accumulated on the blade. Wei Yanho frowned as he saw the edge of energy extend more than a *zhang*.

*This… won’t be easy to control.*

He felt like the sword was dominating him.

Without having applied force or intention, the sword moved like a live fish, as if it had a will of its own. Of course, it wasn’t a conscious being, but the uncontrolled energy gave that impression.

*If I let myself be carried away by its power…*

His strength would increase, but so would his weaknesses.

The martial arts that Baek Muhan had taught him were based on balance. A style that couldn’t be used by someone who let themselves be dragged along by their weapon.

“Huu…”

After a deep breath, he raised the sword slowly.

The blade shone with intensity.

“GRAAAAAA!!”

The Demonic Elder, charged with demonic energy, swooped down like a black ray. Wei Yanho, with a cold gaze, cut the air with decision.

**Cut!**

The demonic ray was split in half. Wei Yanho’s white light shattered the dark aura and exposed the vulnerable body of the Demonic Elder.

“W-what…!?”

A second cut.

This time, horizontal.

The Demonic Elder couldn’t even scream before being thrown backwards.

**BOOM! BOOOOM! CRASH!**

After knocking down several houses, he finally fell to the ground, convulsing.

Wei Jeonghan pursed his lips as he saw him.

“Well… let’s get back to what we were doing.”

“Y… yes, let’s do that.”

As Wei Yanho sheathed his sword, Wei Jeonghan shook his head in disbelief.

*He’s my son, but this is already too much.*
